Digital Editing and File Upsizing

Digital Image Editing
Digital image editing in Photoshop is one of the most important steps in digital imaging. Scans from transparencies and prints have to be digitally retouched to remove dust, scratches, and fibers. Camera RAW files have to be digitally processed before they are suitable for reproduction. Important images are sometimes available only in very small files. Here is an example: A museum in Washington, D.C. wanted to make a 4x7 foot mural from one of the last digital photographs taken inside New York’s World Trade Center. The file was only 3mb in size. What seemed impossible was accomplished by a skilled digital editor. Using Genuine Fractals software (and the better part of a day), he was able to upsize the small file to the 500mb size needed to make a very good mural.
Digital image editing includes retouching, color correcting, image restoration, file upsizing, file transfers, and conversions.
