Depending on your needs and intended usage, there are two options for large print output of your images: Lambda photographic printing or inkjet printing. National Geographic Imaging has found that the cost difference between the production of Lambda and inkjet prints is so small, we offer either one at the same pricing schedule—your choice to fit your application.

Many digital labs offer several different levels of printing quality and this can be confusing. Some offer a Commercial Quality, a Professional Quality, and a Fine-Art Quality. At National Geographic Imaging, we offer only one level of quality. Whether you need a print for your portfolio or for an exhibition, what you get from us will be the best that we know how to produce.

Lambda

For the most true-to-life rendering of images, on stable photographic paper, the choice should be Lambda printing. Offering sizes ranging from 50 inches wide to virtually any length, we can produce impressive, museum-quality prints of your photo or artwork, suitable for framing.

Inkjet

The nature of inkjet printing can be an advantage if used correctly. If you need vivid images and graphics for a display or exhibit, you should consider inkjet printing. It works well with graphic art images, posters, etc., where the colors wanted are bright, saturated, and bolder than real life. We can output up to 59 inches wide by virtually any length, and on a variety of substrates—glossy or matte paper, vinyl, or canvas, to name a few. Special hangers or grommets can easily be added.

Machine Printing

The Noritsu M300 produces our most economical prints. This machine can print and process a finished print in one automatic sequence. Color and density values are averaged out to a medium balance. Quality is surprisingly good, though not as accurate as custom printing on the Lambda.

Durst Rhino LVT Chromes

The Durst Rhino is one of the best film recorders ever made. If the quality of your digital file is high enough, this machine can produce a 4x5 or 8x10-inch chrome output that equals or surpasses the quality of original film.
