Scanning

Transparencies and Negatives
All scans are retouched for dust and scratches. Highlights and shadows are set to professional standards and saved in the ultrawide Adobe 1998 color space unless otherwise requested. Files can be delivered via FTP, on DVD or CD, or on your portable drive.
Drum Scanning
We use Heidelberg Primescan drum scanners, widely considered the best such devices on the market. Drum scans are available from any format original chrome or negative up to 11x17 inches.

Professional CCD Scanning
While drum scans are certainly the best scans you can get, they are relatively time-consuming and expensive to produce. We also offer moderately priced professional quality CCD scans. These scans are produced on either the Creo iQsmart or Hasselblad Flextight scanners and are several levels better than anything you can get on consumer-grade equipment.

Commercial CCD Scanning
These scans are produced on the Kodak HR-500 CCD scanner. Because this scanner has an auto dust and scratch feature, these are our most economical scans. Lacking a bit of the dynamic range and resolution available in our other scans, these are still excellent quality and can be used for many professional purposes. Thousands of these scans have been accepted by major U.S. picture agencies.
